Mission Statement:

“Training Children for Eternity”

Core Values:

“To Train the Mind, to Train the Body, and to Train the Heart”

  • Chapel

Students attend chapel weekly at the Scottsdale-Thunderbird SDA Church. We believe it is important for our students to be active participants in their chapel. A different classroom is responsible for planning and leading of chapel. Parents are welcome to attend chapels. The chapel schedule is posted on our school’s calendar.

  • Music

We believe music positively impacts a student’s academic performance, assists in developing social skills, and provides a creative outlet. Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade have music class in their classroom. Beginning recorders are offered for 3rd & 4th-grade students. Starting in 5th grade, all students take either beginning or advanced band.

  • S.T.E.M.

The S.T.E.M. program is offered for grades 5th-8th. Using hands-on experimentation and project-based learning, students learn problem solving, critical thinking, communication, and project management. Labs offered in S.T.E.M are robotics, biology, nursing, computer coding, video production, and video game design.

  • P.E. & Athletics

The P.E. and Athletics program provides students with tools to develop their God-given abilities while teaching Christian character and life skills such as cooperation, self-sacrifice, leadership, fair play, good sportsmanship, and a common concern for others. All students have P.E. class. P.E. class is taught in the Thunderbird Adventist Academy Gymnasium. In August and September, the students will have swim P.E. at the Academy swimming pool.

  • Field Trips

Various field trips are planned each year. Field trips are designed to tie into the curriculum and/or for art enrichment. Trips planned in past years include the Phoenix Symphony, the Phoenix Zoo, and The Butterfly Wonderland. Grades 5th-8th attend Outdoor School at Camp Yavapines . The 8th grade class will take special overnight trips as well.
